okay i don’t blog for almost a month and its wordpress 2.5… and my hosting provider still has 2.3.3 only… which i manually installed myself! wondering if they will ever catch up…

in other news… i just did my nails today~! both hands and feet (much neglected)… cost me a bit but it certainly looks much better (esp my toes) now than it was before the whole pampering treatment…

but these are not the main point of me blogging today… i wanna rant a little abt wireless@sg… if you didn’t know, wireless@sg is a scheme/plan/watever to ensure that everyone in singapore has free access to internet when they’re out and about… but frm the few experiences i’ve had with the scheme/plan/watever… its been really frustrating for me… why? let me list them down…

there are a total of three service providers for wireless@sg… and even though i tot i signed up for two of them… when i called the hotline for help (after trying for half hour to connect) i found out to my surprise that i was signed up with the one i didn’t know i did… *facepalms* why can’t they have just ONE login… everyone signs up on ONE form instead of having three different types… and they must kinda taunt you by saying ‘if you have problems… pls email…’ sigh… if i could i wouldn’t have problems right?? but at least they had hotlines that actually work (ie: someone answered my call for help!)

amazingly if you think that wireless@sg covers the entire area of singapore… you’ll be surprised at how patchy it really is… i’m not saying the connection sucks… but you can have two different providers just in the vicinity of two blocks… case in point… today i was at the library and the service provider there was icell… just a building away, at the macdonalds… the service provider was qmax… -_-” but that’s not the clincher… just across the road further down… you will not be able to access wireless@sg in raffles city shopping centre or SMU… i had walked happily to raffles city thinking that i could sit in comfort of menotti’s while surfing the net… only to realise that i couldn’t (apparently i had to pay…) sianz… so i must have a list with me of where the hotspots are… because it’ll be too late by the time u need that list and u can’t go online to look for it… =P

oh well… one shouldn’t complain about free stuff.. but i think that some thought behind the user experience would have made it really beautiful…
