a cappucino with a chocolate melting moment please…
YES! i watched twilight yesterday!! =D thanks to my younger sis (and her connections) we were able to catch the uber sneak preview of the movie before it comes out next week! i must say i was totally controlling my fan-girling as my sis had colleagues along and i wanted to be seen as the ‘calm and collected’ elder sis instead of the AHHHHHHHHH… AHHHHHH… kinda person… LOL
so if i may… i will now attempt to write down my thoughts on the movie… overall the movie was good, there were parts that i totally enjoyed and loved and there were parts where it was EXACTLY like how i imagined it (when reading the book)…
many of the characters who didn’t jump out at me in the book were potrayed in a much better and memorable light in the movie… eg: the school kids, mike, eric, angela, jessica esp! charlie (bella’s dad) was spot on.. billy black as well (couldn’t visualise him very well in the book)… the cullens were great… esp emmett and alice… carlise got better as the movie went on (his makeup din look that fake after a while LOL)… din get much vibes from esme and rosalie was okay lah… haha she did have her funny parts… almost forgot about the normadic vamps but yes they are fantastic… james so evil!! and victoria is beautiful… laurent was okay lah… i keep thinking back to the twilight trailer spoof tho… LOL
robert pattinson as edward is brilliant… though there were certain parts where his expressions were a tad too much (but u’ll get it much better if u read the midnight sun exerpt)… but there can be no other edward cullen after this… like how i can’t imagine anyone else but daniel radcliffe as harry potter… kristen stewart’s version of bella was a tad serious i thought… in the book bella is potrayed more as an obsessed but serious girl… but in the movie u just get the serious and not much of the obsession i feel…
i must admit i was a bit disappointed at the front bit of the show coz i tot the script was a tad rushed and the editing could have been done a bit smoother… like before u know it… they were together after only talking all of two times?! hrmm… i think if they had a bit more of bella’s voice overs at the start to ease out what she was thinking about would make the rushed pace a tad better… as it was i felt like edward – didn’t know wat was goin on in bella’s head! LOL
second half was FANTASTIC… absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the baseball scene… i wished it would have gone on longer.. hahahaha… background music was superb and i can imagine the scene now whenever i listen to that track in the OST (yes i bought that too… obsessed rem? LOL)
bella leaving charlie and ballet studio scene was good – edward’s turmoil when he decides whether he was strong enuff to do wat he had to, hospital a bit rushed again but loved the emotional bella… prom scene was fantastic… love the music again and the setting and the script really suits that part…
favourite bits from the movie (in no particular order):
like i said to my sis after the movie… in the book you take AGES to get to the action… it’s the opposite for the movie.. ahahha my advice for fellow twilight fans who have read the book a million times? u’ll have to watch the movie twice at least… first time u’ll be there to figure out what was left out from the book and the second to enjoy the movie version of the book.. ;)
i will watch it again definitely and this time round i will leave the book at the door and enjoy the movie totally for wat it is… then i’ll have to wait (PATIENTLY) for the DVD.. sigh…
p.s. i’ve been looping the OST again and again and again… it sounds soooo much better after u’ve watched the movie… MUSE RAWKS!
